He/she will visit the homes of clients Monday through Friday between the hours of 11am and 4pm to take dogs out for exercise and perform other basic services for dogs in their homes.
This is a part-time job.
It is best suited to someone looking for extra income.
The ideal person for this position:
has a passion for dogs and enjoys being with them.
has experience handling large dogs and knows how to control them.
loves the outdoors and exercise.
understands how to safely control dogs while enjoying a daily walk.
makes the safety of the dog under their care their highest priority.
is an independent and reliable self-starter with lots of energy and a customer service mindset.
lives in our service area.
can commit to a minimum of 6 months of employment.
Responsibilities:
Walk clients' dogs to provide daily exercise and mental stimulation.
Clean up after the dogs during the walk.
Maintain a safe and controlled environment during walks, ensuring the safety of both the dogs and the public.
Check their food and water supply and refresh as needed.
Clean paws upon return to home.
Capture photos and/or video of dog on walk.
Communicate with the dogs' owners through an online app to update them on their pet's activities during the walk.
Secure the pets' homes upon leaving.
Requirements:
Prior experience working with large dogs is required.
Available M-F from 11am to 4pm.
Compassion, patience, punctuality, and reliability.
Strong communication skills.
The ability to walk, run, pull, push, bend and reach.
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Capable of handling all sizes and personalities of canines.
Knowledge of basic dog training techniques and commands.
